How long does it take to receive confirmation after registration?

If you meet the eligibilities, you should get a response from the selection team within 5 to 10 working days of registration. First check your spam folder of your email. Reach out to us if there are unexplained delays.

Are there any funding or sponsorship packages for participants

We fund local transport, accommodation (optional) and dinner (optional). Unfortunately we’re unable to sponsor costs of international flights and visa processing.

Do I need to apply for a visa?

Some attendees will need to apply for visa. A visa may be obtained from Consulates or other Embassies authorized by the Government of Host country to issue visas on her behalf.  Find out if you need a visa for your trip to the Summit in Ethiopia.

When should I send in my visa application? How long does it take?

Processing times for visa applications vary depending on the visa office and the time of the year. Participants are encouraged to apply as soon as their registration is confirmed and have paid for their summit registration fee to ensure they receive the visa in time.

Does YALS give assistance for visa acquisition?

Having confirmed you as a participant, we will issue to you an official letter or other such relevant information to enable you process your visa if you need one for your travel.

Young African Leaders Summit 2020 Ethiopia Registration Terms & Conditions
By registering to attend this Summit, Delegates are entering an agreement with Young Politicians and Leaders Network (organisers of YALS2020).
Eligibility
Delegates must be at least 18 years old and are authorized to accept these terms.
Payment
All payments must be made in United States Dollars, unless otherwise stated.
Cancellations
All sales are final and tickets are non-refundable.  Tickets can be transferred to another delegate- please note that approvals of transfer must be confirmed in writing from YPLN or YALS Team.
Delegates are responsible for cancellation of travel and hotel reservations or accommodation if Delegates do not attend the summit (for delegates who chose to arrange for their own accommodation). 
Should the event be postponed, YPLN shall provide Delegates with substitute passes for the rescheduled Summit or Delegates shall receive a refund.

I applied. Does this mean I’m qualified to attend the summit?

Only paid up members/delegates who are issued an invitation and registration number are eligible to participate.

Will translation services be available during the summit?

Translation will be provided in English, French, Arabic and Spanish, during the opening, closing ceremonies, presentations, keynote and panel sessions.

How can my organization become a partner/sponsor?

Can my organization participate as a delegation?

We welcome delegations from universities/student groups, youth-based organizations, national and international agencies. If you are interested in sending a delegation, reach out to us.

What is the application process breakdown and timelines?

Step 1- Registration for the summit through filling the google application form through
the YALS website.
Step 2 – After you have applied and your application is accepted you will receive an
official letter of invitation within 5 to 10 working days and directions to make payment of the summit fee. Remember there will be deadlines for payments.
Step 3 – The participant will be added to the final list of participants and assigned a
unique ID number.
